Academic Honesty
All students are expected to adhere to a strict code of academic
honesty. You are expected and encouraged to work with others in
the class in order to understand the material presented and the
assigned problems. However, you are expected to complete the
assignments on your OWN unless you are doing group
projects.
Copying someone else's work is against school policy. Assignments
that are substantially the same as someone else's will result in
reduction in grade. This reduction can range from lowering the
grade to a zero for the assignment.
Acts of Academic Dishonesty
- Plagiarism, representing the work of another as one's own work;
- Preparing work for another that is to be used as that person's own work;
- Cheating by any method or means;
- Knowingly and willfully falsifying or manufacturing scientific or educational data and representing the same to be the result of scientific or scholarly experiment or research;
- Knowingly furnishing false information to a university official relative to academic matters;
- Soliciting, aiding, abetting, concealing, or attempting conduct in violation of this code.
Communication Policy
To achieve success, students are expected to submit work in each
course weekly. Students can learn at their own pace; however,
"any pace" still means that students must make progress in the
course every week. To measure learning, students complete
self-checks, practice lessons, multiple choice questions,
projects, discussion-based assessments, and discussions. Students
are expected to maintain regular contact with teachers; the
minimum requirement is monthly. When teachers, students, and
parents work together, students are successful.
